Plumber Came to Call

tilesWe have a great plumber – always does a top job, but being semi-retired you do need to be patient as he arrives when he arrives and not a day sooner.

This week he has been fixing the shower stall, which has been leaking for a long while, despite all my attempts to fix (bodge) it.

This work involves removing one entire plasterboard wall, repairing the water damage behind and re-tiling.

Today he arrived at 8.30 prompt – as promised – and decided that he can’t finish the job today as the wall to be tiled is still too damp. Yes we have a hand shower that can be used in the bath so we shan’t smell… but we do have guests arriving on Wednesday.

I do know however the importance of a good cover.

A great cover tells readers exactly what type of book they are looking at. A thriller will look very different from cozy crime; Chick-lit from a literary work. So finding the right one is vital. A good one draws your target readers, a bad one means they won’t even pick up your book.

Once genre is established, then the next step is convey the feeling of the book. For “Picking up…
