Conan Doyle Con 30th May

arthurconandoyle-140x140KnightWatch Press are holding the Conan Doyle Con in Birmingham this May. Taking place on the 30th in The City Tavern, fans of Conan Doyle will be able to enjoy a fun day of panels and discussions about various Conan Doyle characters, from Professor Challenger to Sherlock Holmes.

Introduction: 12:15 – 12:30 KnightWatch Press (Theresa Derwin)

12:30 – 13:30 Tom Ue on Professor Challenger

13:30 – 14:30 Panel: Exploring Doyle’s Worlds: Sherlock vs Challenger (Michael R Brush, Steve Lockley, Jan Edwards, Tom Ue) – A debate about the differences between the two characters.

14:30 – 15:30 Book Launch: Challenger Unbound (anthology of Challenger adventures) & Mycroft & The Necromancer Michael R Brush

15:30 – 16:30 Panel: Steampunk vs Historical Fiction: What did the Victorians Ever Inspire Us To? (Rhys Hughes, S G Mullholland) Moderator Theresa Derwin

16:30 – 18:15 Don’t Go Into the Cellar presents the 90 minute play ‘The Singular Exploits of Sherlock Holmes’

Each slot is 50 minutes with a ten minute comfort break at the end which is included in times.

Tickets are available to buy from Eventbrite.co.uk and cost just over £15 once you account for the small fee added on top. The event, being held in a pub, will feature lots of beer and wine and be a relaxed environment in which fans can come together and enjoy learning more about their favourite characters. There will also be 10% off the price of any books bought on the day which is certainly a saving worth having.
